Museum Funding
Museum Funding
We operate as a non-profit (501C3), with our funding going towards the sole benefit of those who wish to explore the Hutchings Museum and the endeavor towards learning, exploring and experiencing everything it is we have to offer. We use our earnings towards attaining artifacts in our museum and donations of artifacts to us are never sold, rather they are put in our museum as a collection of historical, geological or fossil specimens or anything else of value that you would want to or expect to find in a museum. Such as insects, plants, taxidermic specimens and even live animals like reptiles! And, as mentioned previously we also have geological specimens such as fossils, rocks and minerals. We also host events as well! Any earnings we make can help us fund educational events for everyone! Especially for kids and their curious nature. Our funds go into research too. Between assets like lab and computer equipment, because what kind of museum would we be if we didn't learn something new every day?

Preservation: We catalog and prepare artifacts for the future enjoyment and education of the public.
Restoration: We restore damaged artifacts and images for the future enjoyment, inspiration and education of the public. Conservation: We believe in conserving the local natural environment through education and opportunities for the public to participate in local wildlife conservation projects.
Exploration: We believe in learning through doing. We will be providing opportunities for the public to participate in expeditions, classes, workshops and projects that will inspire and educate them.
Stewardship: We have been entrusted with many historical images, stories, and artifacts. We take this responsibility and strive to make it accessible to future generations in person and digitally.
Education: We believe in sharing the knowledge we have with as many people as possible. We will continue to create programs to have the museum reach and educate both children and adults. We create educational resources for teachers, parents, and researchers.
